COIMBATORE:
As part of its initiative to penetrate into the rural
market, Reliance IndiaMobile (RIM) of the Reliance Infocomm
has embarked on a mission to roll out it s
network in as many as 600 towns in the rest of the Tamil Nadu
Circle within the next 100 days, that is, before the close of
this fiscal, said Ajay Kumar Awasthi, Head of RIM Business,
Rest of Tamil Nadu circle. Going further, RIM was
contemplating on providing employment to the members of the
self-help group by roping in their services for launching the
concept of village community phones in rural areas. The
exercise, besides expanding the business, would serve dual
purpose of serving the rural segment as well as in providing
employment to self-help group members, he pointed out. Soon,
Reliance would be launching its broadband initiative in all
first tier towns and the mapping for this purpose was in
final stages, he said.
