Tata Motors reported a total sales (including exports) of
31,946 vehicles in December 2004, an increase of 22 per cent
over 26,265 vehicles sold in December 2003.

The company's sales for the period April-December 2004 stood
at 2,79,151 vehicles (including exports) as against 2,16,904
vehicles sold in the same period last year, representing a
growth of 29 per cent.
The company achieved sales of 18,467 commercial vehicles in
December 2004 in the domestic market, which is the highest
for this month in the history of the company.
With a sale of 1,67,797 passenger vehicles in the domestic
market, a growth of 26 per cent retaining its position as the
second largest seller in the country.
