Utility vehicle and tractor maker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)
today posted a 53 per cent jump in net profit for the third
quarter.
The company's net profit for the quarter ending December 31,
2004 soared to Rs 131.18 crore compared to Rs 87.41 crore for
the corresponding period last fiscal.
M&M third quarter sales rose by 33 per cent to Rs 1772 crore
from Rs 1327 crore in the October-December quarter of
2003-04.
The company's EPS in the period under review was Rs 11.48.
Outlook
On the outlook for the remaining part of this fiscal, the
company said the macro-economic indicators continue to be
positive which augured well for a demand-led growth.
The pressure from rising steel and other input prices is
expected to continue and the focus is expected to be on cost
and process efficiencies, it said.
