Thursday, February 10, 2005:
IT and Communication Minister Dayanidhi Maran has said there
is no question of refunding Bharti Tele for the entry fee the
company paid for getting a licence for five circles.
"The licence agreement clearly states that the entry fee is
not refundable," Communication and IT Minister Dayanidhi
Maran told reporters on the sidelines of a function.
The government had not entertained Bharti's demand for refund
of Rs 135 crore and so the matter has approached the court,
he said.
Last week, Bharti had approached TDSAT challenging Government
decision not to refund the money.
TDSAT had yesterday posted the matter to March 4 seeking some
clarifications from Bharti over their petition. (With PTI
