  Hyundai to launch Tuscon

World Business News | Chennai News

Sunday, March 6, 2005:

Ina bid to increase sales, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said it will be launching two new models, including the mini-sports utility vehicle, Tuscon.

The company had last year strengthened its portfolio in the hatchback segment by adding the 'Getz' model, a notch higher than the flagship 'Santro' model.

Launched in the premium compact car segment, it is, however, likely to face competition by Suzuki's 'Swift', which will also hit the Indian roads soon, possibly sporting a price tag less than the Rs 4.5 lakh entry tag for 'Getz'.

The company will launch an all-new model of the luxury sedan 'Sonata', possibly in July.

Currently, the base version of the model sports a price tag of Rs 11.3 lakh while the top-end 'Sonata 2.7 V6' comes for Rs 15.2 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi). (PTI)
