Capitol College
Capitol College is the only independent college in Maryland dedicated to engineering, computer sciencesCapitol College, information technologies and business. The college's 52-acre campus is located in Laurel, Maryland, a suburban setting midway between Washington, DC and Baltimore. Full-time undergraduate students are eligible for a five-year tuition lock and a job guarantee.

You'll use your time wisely here. Whether you're a freshman or a transfer student, you'll begin courses in your major right away. You'll work directly with full professors - not teaching assistants - in classes of about 15 students each. You'll master theories through hands-on work in state-of-the-art labs that are open to all students.

Capitol's programs will prepare you for a lifetime of success. Whether you study engineering, computer sciences, information technologies, or business, you'll land a well-paying job when you graduate.

BS in Astronautical Engineering
Successful space missions are vital to the US and the world. If you've always dreamed of joining NASA's team, Capitol's remarkable astronautical engineering degree can help make it happen. You'll learn the fundamentals of space operations and technology, flight dynamics, spacecraft design, and earth science. You may also work with the NASA Space Operations Institute. There, Capitol and NASA team up to operate satellites and provide hands-on work opportunities for students.

When you graduate, you'll be fully prepared to become a NASA mission specialist, to create software applications, and to design electrical systems for space missions.

BS in Computer Engineering
Computer engineers are responsible for shaping tomorrow's technologies from innovations in computer software to new designs for integrated systems. As a computer engineer, you will be needed wherever hardware and software meet in industries such as space exploration, consumer electronics, broadcast communications and medicine. At Capitol, you can specialize in microcontroller system development, programmable logic architectures, or computer design.

BS in Computer Engineering Technology
Capitol's computer engineering technology program bridges the gap between hardware and software and links digital technology to computer applications. Coursework covers everything from operating systems and hardware to programming languages and software design. You'll apply what you've learned by designing, testing, and troubleshooting computer devices and systems in the lab. And by the time you graduate, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of it all.

BS in Computer Science
Capitol's computer science program is among the most thorough in the area. You'll be exposed to a broad range of theoretical and practical knowledge, delving deeply into hardware, software, data communications, information management, analytic techniques, and the interaction of computers, networks, and users. Coursework includes social and professional issues, and virtually every aspect of computing. The bottom line: you'll graduate prepared for any career in the computer field.

BS in Electrical Engineering
Capitol's EE program is by far the College's most comprehensive. The program is a blend of theory and practice directed at engineering design, rather than research. As you progress through the program more theoretical methods of circuit modeling and computer-aided circuit simulation tools are taught, enabling you to design, build, test, and analyze sophisticated circuits and systems. You can keep your education broad-based or specialize in areas such as telecommunications, digital signal processing, integrated circuit design, and control theory.

BS in Electronics Engineering Technology
As an electronics engineering technology student, you'll prepare for a wide range of practical electronic jobs ranging from circuit analysis to digital design, control and robotics. You'll study circuit design and stimulation, network analysis and synthesis, transmission lines, micro-system design, and fiber optic communications. You can take additional electives to specialize in area such as communications, computer design, control theory, micro-controllers, and telecommunications. As a result, you'll find it easy to keep up with the constant advances in the industry.

BS in Management of Information Technology
Hit the job market with impressive management and technical credentials: earn a degree in management of information technology from Capitol. You'll be ready to walk into a management position in any industry that relies on sophisticated information sources and tools. Coursework covers everything from management theory and business foundations to computing and telecommunications. You may concentrate on software and Internet applications, computers and technology, or liberal studies.

BS in Management of Telecommunication Systems
Prepare to hit the ground running. Armed with a degree in this major, you'll work effectively with technicians and engineers in the information technology and telecommunications fields.
You may specialize in fields like data communications and networking, management of information technology, and software and Internet studies. Classes in your junior and senior years will focus on real-world challenges and solutions. (You might design a network, for instance, selecting appropriate hardware and overseeing systems.) This program is built around a core of business, electronics, computer, and telecommunications courses.

BS in Network Security
Capitol's network security program will provide you with the skills necessary for the efficient use and protection of today's complex computer systems and networks. You will be trained as an information-science professional with a solid background in the areas of computer and network security. Your course of study will include not only computer programming, operating systems and e-commerce, but also cryptography and network security protocols. By the time you graduate, you will be able to obtain a position in any industry that requires secure systems.

BS in Software Engineering
Talented software engineers seem to be in demand virtually everywhere. Why? Because they can design and program computers that meet the needs of virtually anyone. Capitol's software engineering graduates can analyze a system and its needs, then apply engineering principles to create hardware and software solutions.

For the software component of this program, you'll study everything from programming languages and applications to algorithm development and software design. In the hardware section, courses range from computer architecture to chip technology.

BS in Software and Internet Applications
If you are interested in networking and the Internet, then the SIA program is for you. You'll gain in-depth knowledge about websites, network security, database management, computer programming, and more. Since the Internet touches virtually every facet of modern life, the course requirements for this degree are very flexible. You'll enjoy plenty of electives. Options for specialization include management, telecommunications, digital electronics, Cisco certification, and liberal studies. We encourage you to explore a variety of fields and to push the envelope of your experience and understanding.

BS in Telecommunications Engineering Technology
This program will open countless professional doors for you. Our telecommunications engineering technology program is broadbased - and is one of only seven in the US with ABET accreditation.
