Polytechnic University
Polytechnic UniversitPolytechnic Universityy's world-class programs are built on a proud history of discovery and innovation. Intellectual energy is the fuel that drives our people and the content of our challenging academic programs.

The University is diverse, with programs ranging from biomedical engineering to management. Our students come from the New York metropolitan area, but also from all corners of the globe. Despite our diversity, a common thread of technological innovation weaves throughout every department and every member of the faculty. When you study here you become part of a community dedicated to delivering knowledge that can be immediately applied in research, technology, and business.

Chemical Engineering - BS, MS, PhD
The once classical divisions of chemistry -- organic, inorganic, analytical and physical -- now are increasingly overlapped into interdisciplinary fields such as biochemistry, electrochemistry, photochemistry, polymer chemistry, solid state chemistry and chemical physics.

Civil Engineering - BS, MS, PhD
The mission of the department of Civil Engineering is to develop engineering graduates capable of contributing to and advancing the practice of Civil Engineering and its subdisciplines. Through its research programs, the department strives to be at the forefront in selected areas in the development and applications of new knowledge in Civil Engineering.

Computer Science - BS, MS, PhD, Certificate
CIS is often called the most critical education component in the Information and Technology Age, as it serves as the foundation of practically all Information Technology and its related fields.

In Polytechnic's Graduate Programs, the CIS academic department is the school's largest in terms of enrolled students, faculty members and courses offered.

Construction Management - BS, MS, Certificate
Polytechnic University's Construction Management Program is designed to train and build the next industry executives. It represents an extraordinary opportunity to learn construction management and engineering leadership from industry giants and is considered one of the most exciting programs of its kind. Graduate students begin by taking a 15-credit Certificate Program and culminating in a complete master's if they so desire.

Electrical and Computer Engineering - BS, MS, PhD, Certificate
While the eminence of our department is partly due to the research and textbooks produced by our faculty, our strong reputation is largely a result of the success of our graduates in their careers after college. Therefore, the department is dedicated to serving the needs of its students, and preparing them for the evolving trends in their future fields of employment.

Electrophysics - MS
The Master of Science program in Electrophysics is intended to prepare students to work at the interface between electrical engineering and physics, where new engineering applications of various physical phenomena are developed. Emphasis is place on wave propagation, electro-optics and plasmas.

Environmental Engineering and Science - MS
Polytechnic University has been the home of one of the strongest environmental groups in the nation since the 1960s. MS programs in environmental science and engineering emphasize professional practice at an advanced level, while providing the potential PhD student with advanced theoretical material sufficient to prepare him/her for independent research.

Integrated Digital Media - MS
Digital media change constantly; the MS program in Integrated Digital Media Studies is designed to enable students to make the most of new technologies by understanding the processes behind their development. The curriculum has been crafted to provide digital media specialists with portable and adaptable skills and a full understanding of their potential.

Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering - MS
Polytechnic's Graduate Programs in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering provide students with a unique combination of in-depth quantitative and qualitative theory with the rigorous training needed to apply this knowledge in real-world situations.

The two programs bring to bear all the University's resources in engineering, science and management in a multi-disciplinary approach that is designed specifically to educate manufacturing and industrial engineers on how to achieve results.

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - MS, PhD
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers graduate-level programs that address the critical needs of a broad range of industrial sectors. Mechanical Engineering, for instance, develops physical systems and devices -- everything from air conditioners to satellites to rocket engines to robots. Aerospace Engineering focuses on the design and performance of aircraft, missiles and spacecraft.

Polymer Science and Engineering - MS
For over half a century, Polytechnic University has had a traditional commitment to strong polymer programs of worldwide renown. At the present time, the Department of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Materials Science offers a graduate program leading to the degree Master of Science in Polymer Science and Engineering.

Systems Engineering - MS
Systems engineering is based on the body of theoretical knowledge that underlies the engineering of modern complex systems. Systems engineering applies this body of knowledge to designing systems, usually involving the integration of several disciplines to achieve the desired design objective.

Transportation Planning and Engineering - MS, Certificate
Polytechnic's MS programs in Transportation Engineering emphasize professional practice at an advanced level, while providing the potential PhD student with advanced theoretical material sufficient to prepare him/her for independent research. The faculty includes a strong core of researchers and educators that have played leadership roles in such broad areas as transportation systems, highway capacity and level of service analysis, and transportation policy.
