Your neck is made up of bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels that help to support your head.
Muscles in your neck and shoulders play an important role in maintaining a healthy neck.
Many different structures in your neck are capable of causing pain.
Poor posture, injuries, arthritis or stress may contribute to your neck problems, causing pain and limiting your ability to perform your daily activities.

Posture

Good postures will help protect your neck from further damage by preventing its overuse.
It is important to avoid forcing your body into an unnatural posture.
This will cause muscle discomfort at the neck and shoulder.

Sitting Posture

High-back chairs and armchairs provide a good support for the spine.
Seats & tables should be adjusted so that the spine can retain its natural upright posture.
It is also advisable to use a reading desk with a sloping top when reading or writing.

Physical Exercise

Regular exercise and walks promote circulation that will have easing effect in the affected neck tissue.
Loosening-up exercises will make the spine more flexible and strengthen the respective muscles.
The exercises should not cause any strain, but if you experience pain, you should discontinue the exercises.
