During Pregnancy- Care to be taken

1. Foods


a. Fats & Sweets of Minimal
b. Milk and Milk Products more than 3 times
c. Grain Products
d. Meat and proteins (Meat , Fish)
e. Vegetables
f. Fruits

2. Safety Tips


• Wash your hands with soap before you handle food and again after touching raw meat, fish or poultry.
• Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
• Always use a clean cutting board and knife. Wash them well after using for raw meats, fish and poultry.
• Refrigerate uneaten food promptly.


3. Maintenance of Weights during pregnancy

• If you are normal weight before pregnancy:
Gain 25 to 35 pounds during pregnancy.
• If you are overweight before pregnancy:
Gain 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy.
• If you are underweight before pregnancy:
Gain 28 to 40 pounds during pregnancy (depending on your pre-pregnancy weight).
• If you have a multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets or more): See your health care provider. You will need to gain more weight during pregnancy depending on the number of babies you are carrying.


4. Exercises to be followed
a. Walking
b. Yoga ( especially for pregnancy)
