With
almost every major international beauty pageant already in
their kitty, Indian fashion models have now set their eyes on
the ramps of fashion capitals of the world, London, Paris and
Milan. Thousands of young Indian teenagers are going through
the rigours of modelling classes, make-up sessions and
personality coaching, hoping to make it to the big league.
These ambitious girls see modelling as a stepping stone to
the success in Bollywood. But success doesn’t come easy. The
competitive out there is fierce, and only the fittest and the
leanest can survive! Ask Ananya Dutt. She has established
herself after a long, hard struggle.
This multi-faceted model is a trained Odissi and Bharat
Natyam dancer, actor and singer. She has spent years learning
the basics of these different art forms even as she nurtured
the ambition of becoming a model. Best known as the woman,
who drives off with Salman Khan in a speedboat in the Thums
Up ad, Bengali bombshell Ananya has done numerous
advertisements.
Curiously though, we don't hear of her too often. Maybe
because she prefers to maintain a low-profile or maybe
because she wants to her work speak for herself. But she
already built a sizable portfolio. She has promoted products
for Videocon, Thumbs Up, Sprite etc. and has been featured in
Elle, Savvy and Femina.
She made her stage debut in Bharat Dabholkar's - Oh No! Not
Again!!! followed by 'Funny Thing Called Love'. She has also
featured in another popular play, Monkey Business. It’s a
story of a Gujarati family, which visits a not so friendly
neighbourhood country. Ananya plays a pretty teenage daughter
in the play.
To go with the statistics like 36-25-35, Ananya has brown
eyes and bottle-brown hair. Ananya has also learnt the art of
Bharatnatyam and Odissi. She enjoys swimming, kick boxing and
horse riding. Some of the other ads you might have seen
Ananya in, as we mentioned above, include Sprite, Close-up,
De Beers, Videocon and Onida. She has even done a couple of
promos for Channel V. But she is not the one to get contended
with this, and we are certain to hear a lot more of her in
the near future.
