Sri
Krupa has been modelling since 1994. So she is not a new
comer. She decided to take part in Femina Miss India contest
finally bagging the 5th slot.
She created flutters in the industry when she refused a film
offer opposite Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan to be
directed by none other than Kamal Hassan. At a time when the
film industry has become the ultimate career choice for
catwalk beauties, Sri Krupa's decision has raised quite a few
eyebrows in the business. Apparently the vivacious model had
earlier also refused a significant role in the film Moksh.
And while the 19-year-old maintains that the roles fell short
of her expectations; industry watchers are stating that Sri
Krupa has perhaps made the biggest mistake of her life by
turning down the offer of a lifetime!
You have feasted your eyes on her in the Feast ad. She has
also modelled for Head and Shoulders, Thumbs Up, Kurl On,
Vijayalakshmi Silks, Krishnaiah Chetty and Sons and Nalli
silks. If you still haven't figured out her name, it's
Srikrupa Murali.
Standing tall at 5'7" inches, Krupa was discovered by a
choreographer at a party. Struck by her height, slender frame
and fragile good looks, he asked her to model. The rest as
the cliché goes is history. Since then," I have worked for
all the top designers and choreographers in the country,"
says Krupa.
Best costume award for Krupa at Miss International:
Shahab Durazi, Sangeeta Chopra, Hemant Trivedi, Rashmi
Virvani, Marc Robinson are some of the names that she has
done shows for. Krupa, also shot into the limelight when she
was selected one of the Femina Miss Indias in 98. " Winning
that title really meant a great deal to me. There is a lot of
prestige attached to this title." Krupa was one of the
finalists at the Ms International show held at Tokyo that
year. She also won the best national costume award.
Krupa has also received plenty of movie offers. Malayalam
produced Kunjumon has promised to sign her for his new movie,
Maunam. D Rama Naidu wants to sign her for a Telugu film
opposite his superstar son Venkatesh. The future certainly
looks bright for this young girl and with her head firmly
planted on her shoulders, she is bound to go places.
