Simran
was born on the 4th of April 1976 to
parents Ashok Naval and Sharada
Naval. She had two sisters one of
them committed Suicide and she also
has a brother.
She did her
schooling from St. Anthonys High
School Versova and then went on to
do her college from Mumbai along
with which she was also pursuing her
career in modeling. She knowa a
number of languages to speak and she
could speak in Tamil and Telugu
along with Hindi, Punjabi and
English. She also learnt the
Bharatnatyam and Salsa.
She
made her debut in the 1995 film
Sanam Harjai directed by Saawan
Kumar which no one even knew about.
Then she was offered a role in the
Tere Mere Sapne in 1996 and also in
Angaaara. Simultaneously she was
also doing Tamil and Kannada movies.
She did movies like Agni Morcha and
Daadagiri in 1997.
The year
1998 saw her doing only Tamil and
Telugu movies like Autodriver and
Kondattam. Then the next year she
was ion movies like Samarasimha
Reddy which was a big blockbuster
movie. 1999 saw her in hindi films
like Anari no. 1 and Kachche Dhaage
where she had a special appearance.
She also appeared in Sirf Tum
for a small role. In 2000 she was in
movies like Khauff. 2001 she did no
hindi movies and 2002 she appeared
in Aakheer and that has literally
turned out to be one of her last
hindi movies till date and she has
only been doing Tamil movies till
date.
She would certainly
prefer to stay in the Tamil industry
as that industry has given her more
recognition than Bollywood and she
has won a number of awards and
prices in the Tamil film industry.
She is one of the best film
actresses in that industry and will
continue to remain so in the future.
