After sparing Delhiites for a few days, fog returned to
the capital this morning, disrupting flight schedules even as
train services continued to be affected by fog persisting
over the northern plains.
The minimum visibility due to fog reduced to barely 100
metres in the early hours this morning, Met department said.
The forecast was for more foggy mornings in the coming days.
Majority of the early morning flights were delayed because of
fog by around three hours and rescheduled to take off only
after 9:00 am (IST), airport sources said.
Train services on the other hand have continued to be
affected by fog over many parts of northern India and many
trains are running late by several hours, a Railway
spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the capital dropped
from yesterday's 12 degrees Celsius to nine degrees Celsius
today, which is two degrees above normal.
The maximum temperature recorded at 22 degrees Celsius, which
is normal for this time of the season. (PTI)
