Tuesday, April 19, 2005 (New
Delhi):
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, has for the first
time, responded openly to the RSS chief K S Sudarshan's
comment on the need for a younger generation to take over.
The RSS chief had earlier told NDTV that Vajpayee and Advani
should step down and hand over the reins of the party to
younger leaders.
Speaking at the BJP parliamentary board meeting, Vajpayee
said that as of now he does not have any post, and it was up
to the party to decide his role.
As far as Advani is concerned, a decision on the matter is
left to the leader himself, he added.
