CHENNAI: Commercial truck
major Ashok Leyland, on Saturday received the BS 7799
certification from the STQC for its Information Security
Management System (ISMS), thus becoming the first auto
manufacturer in the country to receive this world renowned
certificate.
S L Sarnot, director-general of Standardisation Testing and
Quality Certification (STQC) directorate, a globally
recognised certifying authority of the Government of India,
handed over the certification here this evening to R
Seshasayee, managing director of Ashok Leyland, a flagship
company of the Hinduja Group.
Receiving the certificate, Seshasayee said Information was an
asset, which like other important business assets, added
value to an organisation and consequently needed to be
suitably protected.
