Welcome to Boise State University Online, Idaho's metropolitan university of distinction and the
largest of the state’s public institutions. And perhaps the nation’s only online graduate program in Educational
Technology lauded by President Bush.
You may know about our famous blue football field but you may not know
that Boise State was a pioneer in Educational Technology and in interactive online course delivery.
We
continue to focus on teaching teachers how to use technology effectively in the classroom for improved student
learning. For those who want to specialize in distance education, we also teach our graduate students how to teach
effectively online. We host a virtual charter school on our campus, a living lab that provides opportunities for
student experience, research, and publishing.
Our students discuss issues on class bulletin boards and have
daily access to instructors, including the ability to speak face-to-face electronically. You are not required to be
in class on a certain day or at a certain time of day. Nor do you ever have to come to campus, although we are
delighted to have students visit, especially at graduation.
Whether you’re interested in a master’s degree
(we’ll soon have two), graduate certificates in specialized technology studies (half-master’s degrees), or
inexpensive professional development courses, we can fill your needs. Your bachelor’s degree GPA (3.0 or better) and
the ability to write are all you need for acceptance.
All of our students work full time and study at night
and on weekends. Most finish in about two years. Call about transferring graduate credits from other accredited
institutions.
