Bradley Academy:
Associate Degree
Program
Print Technology
is an up-to-date program with course offerings designed to
keep pace with the many changes in the printing and
publishing industry. There is no doubt that the publishing
industry needs professionals who understand the role of
the computer in imaging, production, printing, and
publishing, and have mastered its use.
In this one-year evening diploma program, you will learn
new skills through a series of six-week modules that focus
on learning desktop software, color management,
imposition, preflighting, digital printing, and CTP
(computer to plate) among other key training areas.
In just 12 months, you will graduate prepared for a
variety of positions in the print technology field such
as: Prepress technicians, image assemblers, production
technicians, graphic arts specialists, and print
technicians.
Using a full range of graphics arts and prepress
applications, you will build foundation software skills in
both Macintosh and Windows platforms. You will learn to
scan, color correct, and output images. You will explore
the emerging use of the Web for preflighting documents.
You will develop your color sense, use of typography,
layout skills, and computer skills. Production workflow is
emphasized and print production skills are added
throughout the program. These new skills are then
reinforced with applied production modules that are like a
"real world" print shop work environment.
You will benefit from Bradley’s highly focused
environment: small class sizes, “hands-on” practical
training, a faculty of practicing professionals, and a
strong employment assistance program with a successful
track record. Employers are turning to Bradley Academy to
seek candidates for entry level positions in this growing
field.
Evening Classes: This program meets four evenings a week
from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Modules may vary from two hours per
week to eight hours per week. Students with experience may
choose to test out of some of the software modules in the
program.
