Pacific College:
The Accounting major integrates a broad
back ground in business administration with a thorough
understanding of accounting concepts and theory and
hands-on training in computerized accounting. The program
prepares students for accounting, bookkeeping, and general
administrative positions in private, public,
not-for-profit, and governmental agencies
Laboratories and Equipment
All programs have a heavy emphasis on appropriate computer
skills to maximize job placement. All degree students
learn word processing, spreadsheets, database management,
email, Internet, and contact/calendar/task management
applications as part of the Microsoft Office Suite. This
is the up-to-date technology used in business today.
Computer labs are designed for each student to have their
own computer, and there is open lab time for students
requesting it.

FUNDAMENTALS OF ACCOUNTING - 4.0
Accounting Fundamentals begins the student's experiences
with basic principles and expands their knowledge through
the complete accounting cycle. A service business
organized as a proprietorship and a merchandising
partnership are studied. Additional topics may be

PAYROLL ACCOUNTING - 4.0
Payroll Accounting provides a detailed study of the laws,
forms, records, and procedures used in accounting for
payroll. Both federal and state requirements are covered.
ADVANCED ACCOUNTING - 4.0
Advanced Accounting covers the division of the accounting
system into component parts and introduces the
five-journal system, notes, inventory, depreciation,
uncollected accounts, and detailed financial statements.
CORPORATE ACCOUNTING - 4.0
Corporate Accounting covers the formation of a
corporation, issuance of stock, payment of dividends,
treatment of long-term bonds, financial reports including
cash flows and comparative financial statement
preparation. Partnership formation is also covered along
with various transactions that affect partnerships.
FUND ACCOUNTING - 4.0
Students cover accounting for state, local, not-for-profit
organizations, college and universities, hospitals, and
other health care providers. Accounting for general,
special revenue, capital projects, debt service,
proprietary, and fiduciary funds are also covered along
with financial statement preparation.
COST ACCOUNTING - 4.0
Cost Accounting covers departmentalized profit and cost
centers, accounting for manufacturing activities, job
order and process cost accounting, controlling
manufacturing costs and cost-revenue analysis for decision
making. In addition internal control and the voucher
system are covered.
INTRO TO MICROCOMPUTER ACCOUNTING
This course introduces the student to computerized
accounting systems. A variety of simulated businesses
provide opportunities to practice different methods of
data preparation and entry.
PEACHTREE APPliCATIONS - 3.0
Students learn to setup an accounting system, journalize
various transactions, prepare financial reports, analyze
business events, and interpret financial statements.
QUICKBOOKS APPliCATIONS - 3.0
Students learn how to set up an accounting system,
journalize various transactions, prepare financial
reports, analyze business events, and interpret financial
statements.
About Pioneer Pacific
Pioneer Pacific is an eligible institution for
participation in Title IV Federal Financial Aid programs.
Qualifying students may receive grants and/or student
loans to help them pay for educational expenses.

every computer, and a virtual e-library allows students
library access 24/7 from any Internet connected computer
in the world.
Programs are designed to be as compressed as educationally
feasible. AAS degree programs can be completed in as few
as 70 weeks. A small student body, less than 1000 students
spread over three locations means small, friendly classes
and a great deal of individual student attention.
Some programs provide externship opportunities that give
students valuable practical experience in the "real world"
prior to entering the job market.
