Vet Tech School:
Associate in Specialized Veterinary Technology Degree
At the Vet Tech Institute, we love our students as much as we love our

From assisting in surgery to monitoring a sick or injured animal, veterinary
technicians help care for animals of all shapes and sizes. Veterinary
technicians perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of a
veterinarian. These tasks include:
Collecting and analyzing test specimens
Taking X-Ray or Sonograms to detect abnormalities
Administrating anesthesia
Assisting with surgical procedures
Performing injection and running IV's
At The Vet Tech Institute you will be well trained in a variety of surgical
procedures. Including an externship during your last semester which will give
you even more real world experience. After finishing the 16 month associate
degree program, you'll be trained in handling and restraining animal patients,
office procedures, anesthesia, sterilization, radiology, pharmacology, and
other procedures.

The Pittsburgh campus of the Vet Tech Institute, which is also a division of
Median School of Allied Health Careers, is known for providing a high-quality

Associate in Specialized Technology Degree, which can be completed in 16

An AVMA-approved program - after graduation, you'll be eligible to take the
national licensing exam and become a licensed veterinary technician
