Profile
Incorporated in April 1997,
Focus commenced operations with training in Y2K technologies.
In June 1997, Tata Consultancy Services, India largest IT
Services and Consulting Company, chose Focus as its business
associate to execute Y2K projects, on a contract basis. Most
of the students trained in Focus found them working on
various projects, at TCS, as Focus' employees. Focus was also
able to forge similar business associations with other
prestigious companies such as Satyam, Cognizant Technologies,
Electronic Data Systems (EDS) etc.
By the end of 1997, with the Internet throwing up immense
possibilities, the Company established in the area of
Internet Technologies, gaining new clients like Planetasia,
Chennaionline.com, India Cements etc.
In June 1999, Focus opened its offshore development center,
at Chennai. The first international order was obtained from
California based IbusinessHub.com, for which a B2B
application for the US healthcare industry was built.
Eventually the team at Focus geared up to provide solutions
to many "non-dot com" companies on platforms such as Client -
Server and Distributed Computing.
In April 2000, Focus commenced its foray into international
markets with the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary,
Focus America Inc, based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
The Company has been evolving with the industry and is in a
strong position today to become a major force in providing IT
Services, Globally.
Today, Focus provides offshore software development, onsite
consulting and also entered into Business Process Outsourcing
to add more value to customer service.
Location
The Corporate office and the Offshore Development Center is
located in Chennai (earlier known as Madras). This is the
Capital city of the Southern Indian State - Tamil Nadu .
With, arguably, the best infrastructure amongst the cities of
India, Chennai is well connected to the rest of the Globe by
Air and Sea. These reasons have contributed to Chennai
becoming the IT Hub of India. Chennai also boasts of the
world's second longest beach - the "Marina".
The Government of India as well as the local State Government
is extensively investing, to beef up the infrastructure
further. Many of these projects also have the support of
International agencies like the World Bank.
The availability of "high - quality" engineers, from the
various reputed Universities and other Engineering Colleges
like the IIT, the Anna university etc, in and around Chennai,
is another reason for Chennai to be the most preferred IT
Destination.
For the above reasons, all major IT Houses of India have
their Development facilities in Chennai. Focus Infotech is
situated in the Heart of Chennai and at the ideal location
for offshore development.
The Infrastructure
The Company's Development infrastructure is a predominantly
designed on a multi-tier architecture; spread over 7,000
square feet, in Chennai. With this office infrastructure,
Focus has an extensive connectivity base spanning across all
the office complexes on a LAN to WAN based connectivity.
Further to this, to service clients and its own offices, the
company has dedicated leased lines. These lines are served
and protected by state of the art equipment.
All the equipment in the offices are in line with the current
industry standards. Powered with these equipments, enough
capacity has been built for the infrastructure to be "fault
tolerant", and be available on 24 by 7 working status.
Management
Focus Infotech Management team has good blend of Technology,
Domain Expertise, Process and Professional Management. The
Team itself has been in the blend for last 6 years.
Focus Believes in Flat, Flexible and Participative Management
practices. It also continuously practices good and open
communication and in turn demands quick solutions for any
