 Born
into a family of musicians and vocalists, Paul Jacob is one
of the few to cut through the clutter of also-rans in the
Chennai music scene. This die-hard bass guitarist is also
known for his jingles in the world of advertising and his
music albums.
Paul discovered his passion for music at the age of seven
when he started experimenting with the guitar and drum set
at home. He was a part of the school band and the choir. He
concluded that he could make a career out of music after
winning numerous inter-school music competitions. Nearing
the end of high school, Paul refused to give up his dream
to be a musician, and as a consequence of this, chose to
leave home.
 After
that, there was no looking back. As a part of other bands,
he played in the leading hotels of Chennai. Through this he
came into contact with several other serious musicians like
himself. He later joined the famous rock group Nemesis
Avenue.
Paul is highly successful in the field of commercials and
has scored jingles for brands like Ponds, Close Up, Colgate
and Ramco Cements. He has also composed music for
documentaries, films and plays.
Today, he is an integral part of Bodhi Records and the
leader of a band called Funky Bodhi. He's now trying to
bring Indian music to the new generation in a novel and
unconventional way.
